Dear Bhaktas,

The last Mahapradosham in this Hevilambi Samvatsara was celebrated with Rudrabhishekam to Sri Chaleshwara.

Surajmal's garlands have been adorning the Lord for the last few days!

With virtually all Bilva leaves having fallen off the tree a week ago, in its annual self-denuding exercise, we were sure of not having any leaf left for the Mahapradosham today, but it came as a silent blessing to see that
one branch alone stood preserving the exact number of leaves needed for today, that too in good shape – and all others were bereft of any!!

Panchamrta-prapata offered visual treat…

Mallika malas in all their fragrant effulgence circled the pair of Guru-padukas, as the hands of the Shishya ought to!

Saparivara-Sadashiva looks on as Bhaktas have adorned him and Nandi with colourful garlands!

The next Mahapradosham is in Vilambi Varsha on the 27th April, Friday.

Mesha-Ravi-Sankrama punya Kala (Vishu) occurs on the 14th April morning (tomorrow), as Sauramana Vilambi Samvatsara begins.

Dear Bhaktas,

With the summer knocking at the doors, Mahapradosham was celebrated today at the Ashrama, with Rudrabhishekam to Bhagavan Chaleshwara.

The preparations begin with the plucking of Bilva leaves for archana, with salutations and the following prayer:

नमस्ते बिल्व-तरवे श्री-फलोदय-हेतवे,
स्वर्गापवर्ग-रूपाय नमो मूर्ति-त्रयात्मने !
संसार-विष-वैद्यस्य, साम्बस्य करुणानिधेः,
अर्चनार्थं गृहीष्यामि तवत्पत्रं तत्क्षमस्व मे ll

O Sacred Bilva tree, who embodies the Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara, the harbinger of auspiciousness, my salutations to thee!

Kindly forgive me for plucking some leaves from you, for I do so in order to worship the compassionate Lord Maheshwara, who is ever with the DIvine Mother, the only Physician who can destroy the poison of the  Samsara!

So Sooraj can be seen high up on the branches, gathering the leaves!

The next Pradosham is on the 13th of April, Friday.

avt news and events Shravana concludes! 19 aug 2016

ll ॐ नमः शिवाय ll

Dear Bhaktas,

The month-long Shravana festival culminated in a grand Rudrabhishekam on the auspicious day of 'Shravana Poornima' . Splendid floral alankara every day, appeared to be vying with the other days in claiming to be more beautiful!

Many devotees made it a point to attend on all the days, early in the morning, bringing flowers of an enchanting riot of colours to offer to Bhagavan Chaleshwara.

Nandikeshwara seemed to supplement the devotional spirit of the Bhaktas…

We brought you some beautiful images before, and we share some more beautiful ones today.

Upakarma was also conducted at the Ashrama today.
